Greetings,
Anyone else experiencing this?
Issue: Using MC8.5.2 I am consolidating bins each with up to 100 clips. I'm just consolidating to a new drive and am not deleting original media. If I select around 20 clips I have no problems. If I select more than 20 (I'll try coming up with an exact number if possible) then after about half way through MC freezes and gives me a beachball. At this point the Finder freezes and my entire system is frozen. I can't force quit anything. I do a hard reboot and get a spinning icon for 10 minutes at which point I give up and reset the computer again. It then will reboot properly.
Once I was able to force quit MC and then force quit the Finder but after that MC wouldn't start again. The MC dock icon just bounced up and down for some time until I forced quit it. After the two reboots MC will start again.
This is very repeatable. I've tried multiple times hoping to figure out how many clips is too many.
The orginal media are titles created with MC 7.0.4 at DNxHD36.
My current system is an iMac i5, 16GB Ram, flash drive, 27", 3.4GHz, GeForce GTX 775M 2048MB. No i/o hardware. Software only. I am using a Terrablock for the shared storage.
I have access to a new mac pro 8-core, 32 GB Ram. I'll try that machine and see if it still happens.
Anyone experiencing this?
Thanks.
