Hello!
I just upgraded from MC 6 to the new version so I´m not really familiar with the new features ...
Actually I´m working on a long documentary, a classic HD Project with transcoded DNxHD Media. There is now some 4K footage, which I also transcoded to DNxHD 36 and in the timeline it gets this spatial adapter. But for what? Is it necessary?
Later, when editing is complete, I have to relink to the original 4K files and transcode into a higher resolution. I also might want to do some Frameflex zooming. But certainly not with every clip.
I don´t understand, why there is this spatial adapter. The DNxHD files have the correct dimension, so there is nothing to resize and I can´t remove it.
What I found out so far: In the consolidate/transcode window there is an option "Apply source transformations - Frameflex". Apparently this must be checked, in order to get a "normal" DNxHD File (without the spatial adapter). Should I have used this option for my workflow? I could also apply frameflex transformations with these clips, so at least it seems to me like the better option.
But will it cause problems later, when I want to relink to the original files? What would you do?
Thanks for any ideas!
Robert
