How to copy clips around in your time line?

Okay I don't get how to copy stuff around in your time line. It's one of the easiest things out there yet I don't get how to do it in Avid.

Example:

I have 2 Video tracks. Now i have a clip on Track 02 and I want to copy the SAME clip into Track 1 just underneath Track 02. How do I get my clip there?

If I copy my clip and paste it it will get pasted in Track 02 always (the track I am copying from not the track where I want to paste it to).

so what am I doing wrong?
