Trying to start work on a new project but the latest MC update seems to be playing up. At least I think that's what it is...
I'm working with XDCAM HD Canon C300 footage using AMA for the first time. I carried out a quick workflow test with same format material pre-MC update and all seemed well.
Linking using AMA as always but newly-shot video is stuttering badly on playback (plays for a second or two, freezes, then races to catch up before freezing again, repeat!) both in the Source window and from the timeline at every quality. Oddly, all the audio plays without interruption throughout.
I've re-tested other material (shot in DNxHD 185 X on Blackmagic Cinema Cam) using AMA and it plays and edits fine as expected.
Anyone else experiencing this? Could it be because the footage is 50Mbits?
Things I've tried that haven't worked:
- transcoding C300 material to DNxHD - same stuttering on playback
- updating Canon codec
- updating Sony XDCAM codec
- updating QT (7.7.9)
- turning everything off and on again (!)
I have a week before my producer returns from hols and I really need to have a sizzle reel cut by then. Panic is setting in...
Can anyone help? Is it my PC getting too long in the tooth? Is my spec up to the job?
