Hello Avid Forums -
I've been working on other edit platforms for the past couple years, and am just now returning to Media Composer, so I apologize if this has been covered elsewhere. I looked around, but didn't see anything exactly addressing my issue.
I have a sequence cut from 2K DNxHQS transcodes that I'm looking to export and post on Vimeo for a client. I have tried the H.264 option, but no matter how high I crank the bitrate, the exported file looks terrible (blocky and soft). I'm willing to go to Pro Res 422 out of Avid and use compressor or Adobe Encoder to create my H.264 for upload, but the option to export as ProRes does not appear in my dropdown menu.
Would love to hear solutions to either problem (how to export a good H.264 or how to get ProRes as an option in my export menu). I have read elsewhere some folks suggest a video mixdown of the sequence - that's not the answer I'm looking for. I need a straight ProRes422 HQ and not a ProRes422 HQ MXF.
I am running Avid 8.6.1 on a MacPro that also has Final Cut X installed.
Thanks!
