How do I get rid of unwanted audio tracks at source?

I often use EXcam footage where I only need the channel 1 and 2 audio.    However, whenever I add a new clip to the timeline, Avid seems to want to automatically add all eight channels to the time-line, even if I only have 2-3 tracks in my timeline to begin with.   Is there a way to make sure these unwanted tracks aren't constantly reappearing?

I can obviously deselect those tracks at the source, each time, but there must be an easier way presumably...

Equally, if I view the clip as a source timeline with a waveform, the waveform has to draw not only for the audio that I need, but also the 7 empty tracks.   Again, it would be good just to delete these tracks to speed things up.   But that only seems possible by creating a subclip.

Thanks

Simon
