backtiming behavior

I have a suggestion I've been keeping to myself for a few years.. going to throw it out there. Just like I can edit something into the timeline from the composer with only 1 inpoint set (in the timeline), I'd like to be able to backtime with just 1 outpoint set (in the timeline). The problem is that MC considers the position bar an inpoint. This means that if my timeline outpoint is set but the position bar is on the outpoint (where it would be if I option+x or c a segment into the source viewer), it will only cut one frame into the timeline because there technically is an in and an out on the same frame. If the position bar is on the same frame as the outpoint, I want it to ignore the position bar as an inpoint and backtime the full source into the timeline. So many times I've tried to do a quick backtime of a clip using what seems like common sense logic, only to cut one frame into the timeline, then undo, mark clip in the source, then try again.
