In my facility, we have 10 avid bays that share storage on an Archion media server. We also have a shared file server for exports to the graphic guys, SFX and music libraries, graphic assets from clients, etc. We created a write-protected Avid MediaFiles folder on that shared file server in order to mitigate people writing media to that drive but recently one of the bays seems to be writing there somehow even though on paper they shouldnt have write access to that folder. This causes the media folder to get scanned every now and again which makes the editors understandibly annoyed.
I looked thru the columns and there doesnt seem to be a "user" column that shows WHO imported or created media - but in my mind, Avid probably knows this info because it knows what user has a bin open at any given time. Is there a way to see what user is creating or importing media so we can localize the issue?
Let me know if I need to clarify anything else regarding this. It's something we'd love to fix in the next few days before it gets really busy again. Thanks!
