I have read everything I can on how Avid handles colour space and the difference between full and studio swing for import/export but I can't find anything definite on capture.
Does avid always map 0-255 to 16-235 on baseline capture and if so is that baked in? I am capturing tapes shot with 108% IRE over HDMI to both 8 bit and 10 bit DNxHD. When I go to colour correct I can see the clipping but if I adjust the 'peaks' seem to be restored. Is full swing lost upon capture or merely remapped?
