Because I am working with MC 5.3, it is very finicky about what footage it will import. I found this out the hard way by shooting with the JVC 750U (1080 60i) MP4.
My media composer will not accept the files becasue as it turns out, the files are actually XDCam in an MP4 Wrapper, whatever the hell that means. Due to this, my burdensom workflow is as follows..
Import clips from SDHC card to a converter program called Wondershare (great program only $50). I then convert each clip to a real MP4 or Mov file. I then import that result into the Avid system. Unfortuantely, a 4 minute clip took over an hour to import into my media composer. I have over 70 clips!
Any thought on this folks?
