Hi all,
I'm hoping to get Avid 8.6.5 running smoothly on a Late 2013 Mac Pro (specs will be listed below). Avid has always been sluggish on this Mac and I'm hoping to get some system setup advice on how to get it running smooth. Currently the late 2013 8gb 21" iMacs outperform the Mac Pro.
Mac Pro (Late 2013)
Processor 2.7GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon E5
Memory 32 GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC
Startup Disk Macintosh SSD
Graphics AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB
OS X El Capitan 10.11.4
The main use will be cutting/transcoding using a 5K ISIS with the majority of the files being DNxHD 36. I've just uninstalled Avid MC and reinstalling 8.6.5.44425
