I've just went from 2019.9 to the last level software that is supported for my Nitris DX box. 2019.12.4 with Symphony. I'm on windows 10 enterprise version 1909, OS build 18363.1316 with version 5.1.0 driver on my Sony Xdcam PDW-U2. I've not seen this issue in past, but when I am close to completing an export to XDcam (using Export to Device, Xdcam) the avid comes up with error messages and stalls. It seems to complete the export, but the errors concern me. (nothing is shown in the console) I've read about issues with video cards and drivers... I'm runing a NVidia Quadro K4200 with driver 442.19 with what seems to be the correct Nablet Xdcam AMA plugin of 5.2.1 Any suggestions appreciated

Script Editing: No lines crossing the frames
Maybe it's already improved in newer versions? I'm working with MC 2018.12.15 and it's very hard to see the frames when all the lines are crossing them, would be great if you could turn that off so I can find the right camera angle very quickly in the script based on the frame.

Media composer freezing after switiching tabs...
Hi all,
Media composer locks up and freezes for about 20 seconds when I change tab - from media composer to chrome then back to media composer for example.
This is the first time I'm getting this issue, I'm not quite sure what's caused it!
Any ideas as to what could be causing this... or is it normal for mc to freeze for a while you change back to it?

Setup slider in Color Correction
The setup slider seems to respond only in full-integer steps. For instance, there's no difference between -10.3 and -10.4. Is there a way of accessing values between the full integers? The scale shows these values, but they have no effect on the image.

Issues updating photos in Avid Link profile

There seems to be an issue with updating photos with avid link, i added some but cant update them.
This has been going on for some time now, i must of tried at least 20 times in the last few weeks.

Dongle Not Recognized in Big Sur
I've installed 202.12 in my iMac 2019 with Big Sur,
But the dongle can not be recognized at all, even I've installed the Sentinel Driver.
When I reboot after drive installation, no window pop up about extension blocked.

Canon XF705 XF-HEVC footage without Start-Timecode on ama link
Dear all,
I currently test with the Canon XF705 camera with 3840x2160p50 material shot in the XF-HEVC Codec. I installed the latest Canon XF Ama Plugin 3.7.1 and also the needed Canon XF-HEVC Decoder.
Clips link fine via source browser and video and audio is great, can be transcoded and everything.
BUT every clip starts at TC 00:00:00:00. I can verify that every clip has Start TC indeed, when I analyse the source MXF with MediaInfo or throw them into adobe or davinci resolve, I can see and get proper Start TC for every Clip. So it is only the avid who cannot extract the TC data.
I use Avid MC 2018.12.15 but had same experience with Avid MC 2018.12.11
Anybody any suggestions or has made similar experience with footage from that specific camera / codec?

Batch reimport reverts to old media
Here's the scenario: we import an AE animation. The animation gets revised in AE, so we batch reimport it so it updates in the timeline. Everything looks good. When we open the project the next time, we find that the animation has reverted to it's original media! One of the editors had the clip revert to the original media while scrubbing the timeline without even restarting the project. The fix seems to be batch reimporting the file again and then deleting the database file, but we don't know what is causing the issue in the first place.
In my 20 years using Avid, I have not seen this issue until now. Two of our editors have had this experience on different projects on different machines. Not every project. In fact, the next project they worked on was just fine. Anyone experience this? Is the database file in the Avid Mediafiles folder not saving properly? It's really frustrating on long exports when you can't trust that you'll have the latest versions of the clips. Any ideas on troubleshooting?
Both editors were using 2017 iMac Pros running Big Sur with Media Composer 2021.2 with media on Nexis Pro version 20.12.0.9

Always Crashing!
Hi - As of this morning, my Avid Media Composer crashes every time I start it. It get almost through the start up process.... I see my bin tabs loading and then it's done. The first thing I did was unistall the driver for my new Blackmagic Decklink Mini Monitor 4k since that was the last plug that was installed. Didn't help. I then deleted the "Color Presets" since that's the point of the loading process where it always seemed to crash,. I also deleted the MC State. I even unstalled and reinstalled Avid. Nothing helps! I have a 2020 Mac Pro with Catalina and the latest 2020.4 Media Composer Ultimate. Any help appreciated!!!!!

Why is AVID Titler Plus impossible to work with?
I am a fan of AVID and its standard tools. But now i am working in a 4K project and I am losing tons of time just by making a simple lower third title. It needs to animate a bit, but it just wont do what I want. Just make is move up or down seems to be impossible. With the old Title Tool, I was able to do that in a minute. Now I am frustrated because after an hour it still won't do a simple move.
I am really frustrated 
. How can a professional company like AVID make such a bad tool.
Why can't I make a simple move of my title? Is it me?

Software version upgrade
Hi everyone,
I'm currently running AVID Symphony 2018.10 on windows 10. I'm migrating to a Z840 Dual Zeon workstation with 64GB of RAM and a Nvidia Quadro RX 5000 graphics card. I have many older projects that I am still working on. Will there be any compatibilty problems working with previous AVID projects if I go to a more current version? What newer version would be recommended for stability on this new hardware?

Can't Link/Import material from Source Browser to Avid
Greetings,
Sorry for dumb novice quesiton. I'm very new to Avid Media Composer First and I can't seem to Link or Import material from my Source Browser, via external hard drive, to clips bin. When I view the video avaiable in Source Browser they all read "Can't be linked" under the Plug-In column.
What's frustrating is that just two day ago I was able to ingest all the video I needed into the bin. Just in case, I've already uninstalled and installed AMC First and nothing works. I did see in another thread to check under the "info" tab which has all the plug-in's that come with AMC First and I do believe I have all the required ones to edit .mov .mp4 etc.
Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Seeking DIY Win 10 Pro dual-boot advice....
I have a XPS Workstation with a small, speedy 250GB NvMe C:Drive that has worked perfectly for almost 4 years. It just gets a little full at times, but it’s never failed me.
I also installed an after-market PCI-e x4 slot add-on NvMe card that allows me 500 GB. It’s working reliably for MC MXF playback.
If I wanted to have the possibility of booting up with the PCIe slot’s NvMe chip, is that even possible? I wouldn’t need to do it everyday, so I would be willing to go into Bios at startup, if necessary, to direct the PC to choose booting off the PCIe Drive, rather than the C:/ Drive. I *think* that can be done... but then again, I really have no idea.
Am I barking up the wrong tree? What are the drawbacks? I would license a separate copy of Win 10 Pro, if need be.what I have now is the OEM Win10 that came with the workstation.
I Don’t want to risk losing the reliability that I now have. I imagine there are all sorts of gotchas, but it would be nice to have a semi-automatic dual-boot capability to also run latest MC versions and keep up with all the latest MC offerings.
My usual version is v2018.12, which is doing well on my system.
Is anyone doing something like this with Win 10 Pro? Advice gladly accepted!

Adding markers with time of day timecode
Hello all, currently when I add markers to clips in my timeline, the markers displayed in the markers window are associated to the sequence timecode. This is also happen when I export an EDL of the clips in the timeline.
When I add markers to clips in the source window, they are associated to the clip source TC which is what I want, however, when I drop the clips with the markers onto the timeline the TC's turn back to sequence timecode - does anyone know how keep the markers TC as source TC and not sequence TC? Ideally I wouldn't have to add them in the source window and could add them in the timeline and have them asscoiated to the clip source TC

Is it possible to do strobe motion?
In MC it's as simple as checking a box on the time warp effect. In DS I can't seem to figure out how to do strobe motion effects. I didn't think it was possible, but then saw some features listed for the DS online and strobe was listed as one of the timewarp effects, but I can't find any more info anywhere. Is this possible to do this with native DS effects?
