2019.6 MC Autosequence by AUX timecode
Please add ability to select AUX timecode to build autosequence.
I'm using audio timecode for syncing field cameras. (they have no TC in - only audio) I have 7 cams and they switch on/off randomly. I don't need a multicamera multigroup, because field cams have 1-10 frames random drift, so i can not then adjust my multigroup.
So - i need a simpe timeline-camera-time-map to edit.
I extracted audio tc from my clips
But now autosequence have only option to build a sequence using clip TC
that's the problem.
PLEASE add AUX timecode option to Autosequence.

You should be able to create a New Folder inside another folder
It would be great if I could open a folder, right click and create a new folder. You can't even do this using the menus in Avid.
I work on large reality format shows, often on Network drives that are locked so you can only make changes through Avid (as opposed to creating the folder using a Finder browser).
It drives me insane that I can't do this, and I have to shift the folder into several different work folders before i can put it in the right one.

Media Composer VFX Frame Count Generator
Frame count generator that counts only the frame of a clip in the timeline with offset available.
Common usage would be for VFX shots where the first frame could be set to 1009 and would count up until the end of the clip.
Currently only frame counts for the entire sequence or for a source clip is possible.

Sounds a lot like:
Bug Number: MCCET-3996. You might have received an “Assertion failed” error when performing a match frame with a sequence with group clips.
Except that was supposedly fixed in 2021.5.
Rolling back to 2020.6 or earlier solves it.
We opened an Avid case about it, but they weren't able to help and the case is now closed.
Is anyone else experiencing it, and found a good solution?

Windows 10 pro with the latest update. Launching MC 2021.5 installer, After first pop up box asking Avid wants to modify clicking yes nothing happens. what is going on Avid???

HELP: MC 2021.6 crashes on launch!
Hi,
I just installled 2021.6 but, after rebooting, MC started crashing on launch. No way to make it work. I tried to uninstall it and then install it again (always through Avid Link) but it didn't work, MC keep crashing every time.
Is there a solution?
I have a 2016 Macbook Pro 15 on Big Sur 11.4 and before installing this bugged version I was using 2021.5 without problems.

Trying to edit iPhone 4K 30 fps video in Media Composer 2020.8
I deperately need help linking and transcoding an 8 minute clip shot on my iphone. Nothing is working. I have tried linking and importing. Media composer just keeps telling me that the file type .mov is not supported. What am I doing wrong please help.

stuttering play, with new more powerful computer
Hi all.
For years I've been editing on an iMac from late 2012, but finally got too fed up with slowness.
This past week I installed a shiny new 2020 imac 3.6ghz 10 core with the best possible GPU (5700XT with 16gb). I've been surprised to see that on a sequence with a simple HD AMA clip and a title on it, I'm still getting the dreaded yellow and red lines above the timeline causing playback stutter. Someteimes even after rendering.
Surely this cannot be and there are some settings I can adjust.
Does anyone have some tricks up their sleeves to get rid of this annoying problem?
FYI I have it on the yellw/green quality view setting.

Alexa Mini ProRes 4444 Workflow, AMA-link okay...?
Hello everyone,
I'm currently working on a short film project which we've got footages from Alexa Mini (ProRes4444 mov) and GH5 (10bit H.264 mov) at the same time, and it will be edited together.
The GH5 part seems straight forward: as the 2018.12 version of MC can directly AMA-link the 10bit files through generic AMA plug-in, the issue I'm facing is the ProRes 4444 part from Alexa Mini.
In all official workflow tutorial from Avid or on this forum, it seems that transcoding in DaVinci Resolve into DNxHD proxy MXF then dropping into MC and merge the Alexa-generated sidebar ALE files are recommended, instead of AMA-linking the ProRes QT files. But with the method from Michael Phillips' wonderful tutorial on merging metatdata from the ALE files http://24p.com/wordpress/?p=247 I find that it is possible to "merge" the Alexa's ALE metadata with the AMA-linked MOVs.
Is there anything that I missed therefore generally AMA-linking Alexa MOVs are discouraged? Or ss this okay to do for a quick editing session since we're in a rush to assemble a rough cut to make sure how many stuff we have to reshoot before the local holidays?

Media Composer First priority over Media Composer?
Hi all,
So I've been having a tough time getting my Media Composer subscription to work properly on my computer (PC). At first, I could not get MC to activate through Avid Link. It would give me the option to, but nothing would happen. It would only repeat the process in an endless loop. So then, I chose the option to run MC | First. At the very least, that would open. However, now that I want to try to open up the full software again, I cannot get Avid Link to recognize that I don't want to run MC|F. I click the 'Open' button on MC but it launches MC|F without any input from me. I cannot launch the trial version of MC through MC|F either. I'm at a loss! I have a valid subscription, but I'm stuck with the demo. I also cannot deactivate my license.

cloudux-starter-kit bug
Since about a week we have been experiencing difficulties when running cloudUX locally through the cloudux-starter-kit package.
The problem is that after building and serving cloudUX by running npm start in the command-line, it will show a command-line error a couple seconds after we open cloudUX in our browser. The error is the following:

at C:\dev\services\mediacentral-cloud-ux\node_modules\cloudux-starter-kit\lib\connector\config\webpackDevServer.config.js:121:51
When checking the webpackDevServer config at line 121, it seems that manageris undefined in data.config.app[0].manager[0].$.portwhen trying to get the player config from /icps/player/ICPS.html5.conf.

New Avid MC Activation difficulties HELP!
Just downloaded AVID MC, messing with the trrial version but want to activate my purchsed MC ... not sure HOW

MC install runs in loop
We just reinstalled MC to fix an issue. Installation runs in loop. Installs software. Reboots. Says Windows is updating for MC. Finishes. Click on MC to open. Starts again into Windows updating for MC. When rebooting machine. It all starts over.
We CANNOT access MC at this point. And, we have deadlines today with clients waiting.
This is happening with 2021.3 and 2021.6. This should not be this hard. In all the years of using this sofware I've never seen it do this.
Any thoughts on this?

avid 2020.10 - problem while captured from firewire

I installed avid 2020.10.
While trying to captured from dv port connected by firewire - I get an error massage
pmm_mismatch_unknown_attr
Over and over again - and I can't captured
I uninstalled and install avid 2020.6 - and it worked just fine
I installed avid 2020.9 - and it also worked
I installed 2020.10 - and the same error appeared and again - I can't capture
What is the problem and what can I do or what can be done?

Apply colour correction template issue
A tricky one here.
I cut a feature with 4 different video layers.
I opened colour correction and made some adjustments to make the colours pop. I saved it as a template to my bin. I highlighted all the tracks and then t'd up all my video tracks so they were highlighted. I double clicked my CC template in my bin to apply the colour to all the video.
It did apply it to all the video, but for some reason all my footage on V2 moved back about a second.
My sync lock was turned on.
I tried doing it with my audio not highlighted as well
Same thing kept happening.
If I applied them one at it worked, but not when highlighting all and double clicking the template. Took me forever to apply each one individually.
Anyone ever come across this before?

MC 2021.6 Unable to Edit Effects
After updating to MC 2021.6 on macOS 11.4 (Big Sur) clicking into Effects mode produces a blank Effects Editor window. If I restore the default workspace, I am able to edit the effect. Click out of it, though, and the issue returns.

MC window behind Apple dock
Since updating to 2021.5 Avid now opens behind my 'always on' Apple dock (see attached screenshot for clarifcation) and I have to always manually resize the workspace to leave space at the bottom of the screen for the dock.
Avid used to always open and sit above the dock but for whatever reason something has changed and I can't figure out how to auto open with space for the dock. Saving workspace settings after resizing the window doesn't seem to work. I'm sure there's a simple fix, but I can't seem to find it - can anyone help me out? Thanks!
