I'm using frame flex to punch in on a 4K interview to create a virtual CU. I can't seem to drag my closeup settings to a bin and apply them to other clips in the timeline. Am I missing something? Is there a way to copy/paste frame flex settings between clips?

I'm experiencing imprecise responses during trim mode, I get visible timeline lag and delayed responses from when I hit JKL or IO keys. I'm used to buttery smooth precision when trimming.
I'm working with DNx115 media at full quality from NEXIS shared storage, dual ethernet connection. I've tried changing to draft quality, removing the mask margins from video output, I've checked the composer and trim settings. There are no effects on the clips. Clicking and dragging is also stuttering.
Is this a known bug or are there settings I should change/be aware of?

Good day, I have one qestion using FrameFlex option in multicam mode. I have two files with adjusted FrameFlex. I group this files by IN point and get group clip, but after inserting this clip on timeline I do not see FrameFlex icon on the clip and can't apply FrameFlex option to group clip - "Source settings" is inactive. Although FrameFlex settings is applied to clips and I see it in group clip, I can't adjust it and I need adjust FrameFlex individually for each clip on timeline, created during multicam editing. Can I do this?
I've used Media Composer FluidMorph to give me a seamless transition for a haracter's relatively simple cspeaking action in a shot, but there is slightly too much difference between the facial expressions of the two clips I'm FluidMorphing together, so the final shot looks reallygood except around the mouth and eyebrows.
I realize I'll need to use and effect that allows me detailed spline type warping for accurately/seamlessly morphing the mouth and eyebrows for the character, so I was wondering what would be the "best" option from the ones listed below?
Option 1: BCC Video Morph in After Effects
Option 2: Re:Vision Effects Re:Flex in After Effects
Option 3: Nuke SplineWarp in Nuke
I already own BCC, but was wondering if Re:Flex or Nuke Spline have certain features that BCC Video Morph does not have for acheiving the same desired result in a faster/simpler workflow.

Is there a way to make the latest media composer work with 2 hard drives in 1 project. Or do I need to wait for a new project to switch the primary video drive?

I need help with understanding iNews - MOS - MOS device communication.
I need to receive complete list of objects in rundown order. MOS device is added in mosconfig.xml file. Also, it is defined in MOS story in iNews and is added to 1 monitor in MOS-MAP story. When I start that Monitor, i receive roCreate message. roReqAll returns list of rundown orders, which is in my case only 1 now. When I send roReq and provide roID, result is roList, but only things I get are roID and roSlug. Rundown order is not empty, but I still do not receive any items from it. What should I change in order to get rundown order with all items (full roList message)?

Been linking with no problem in the past - perhaps there is a bug in 12.3 or did I do something wrong? MC will not link. The only thing that changed was MS 10 updated to 1809 - but that is supported. I guess I could update to 12.5 - but hate to when in the middle of project. I used be able to just select the entire fodler and it would link right into a bin. That no longer works as well. Am I missing something? Any ideas

THE PROBLEM: I opened AVID MC and my left mouse button(s) keep getting stuck.
HOWEVER, the weirdest thing is that it is ONLY getting stuck in AVID.
ALSO, I have a logitech MX revolution and an Apple Trackpad and BOTH of these get stuck on AVID ONLY.
I am going to uninstall and reinstall AVID, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.
ALSO, I've tried everything, restartin AVID, restarting the Mac, opening another project... nothing worked...

UPDATE: The application rightzoom.app was conflicting with Media Composer.
I excluded mediacomposer from this app, and everything is running at 100%. Phew!
Right Zoom is a micro app that lets you full screen any window when you press the green button on top.
It was featured on lifehacker and I had forgotten I had downloded it... Doh!

Basic basic music only mix but need that Loudness compliance thing to pass for broadcast. Whats the best way to ensure it complies from within Avid guys? I have some audio plugins available from Avid called Pro Limiter/Pro compressor (seems to need a $50 posted iLok device though, so that ended really well 
. Bit behind the times as am still using lovely olde worlde PPM's it seems 
Proper stuff goes through a pro audio post facility but this is just a music bed :)

In the MC manual there are some references to the differences between digital and analog audio scrub, but little info on how one can select which.
As far as I can fathom, audio scrub only works when using JKL - when using the mouse or Artist panels, I get digitals crub, which in my humble and analog videotape bound opinion is less than useless for precise editing of audio.
Is there any way to select analog scdrub for all scrubbing operations? Regardless of which human interface I can using?
Also, is there any way of getting audio scrub to work on the viewer (typically the source but also the record) when usingt the mouse wheel. To use the mouse wheel, it seems necessary to press Ctrl, which seems to defeat or ignore the CapsLock setting for audio scrub. I can get audio scrib using the source either viewer, but only when using mouse drag, the mouse wheel does not allow this.
I would love to see the option of allowing the mouse wheel to control either viewer WITHOUT having to press Ctrl first - as well as allowing me to select the preffered form of scrub, regarless of which viewer or control method used - is this possible?
I am running Media Composer 2018.5 on a PC, and am working on a long format project. All the media I've brought into the project has been transcoded to the DNxHR LB codec, from AVC MP4 original media.
After transcoding and getting stuck into the editing, MC was loving life and I was able to edit without the lag you get from working with native media. I progressed towards the final stages of the edit without a single hiccup, until quite recently my project was abrubtly halted due to the following error which has, seemingly out of nowhere, decided to appear:
Exception: Cannot create the AMA sample mapper to play this clip.
I can no longer play any sequence, and when I scrub through the timeline it will scrub through some sections normally, but not other sections, making this strange error even more puzzling. And until it's resolved I can no longer continue working on my project, therefore any assistance is hugely appreciated.

I have two render drive on NEXIS shared storage, "Render" and "Render_SND".
My media creation settings are set to send video renders to "Render" and audio renders to "Render_SND" however I've noticed that when I select an in-out region in the timeline of only audio tracks and hit render (anywhere- from the menu bar to the button in the timeline window, at position, in to out etc) the default is not the audio render drvie set in media creation.
Is this a bug? Can anyone else confirm this? How can I make sure that video and audio are being written to the correct destinations?

Successfully been exporting all our AS-11 files from several Mac & PC Media Composers with Symphony option (various versions up to 8.8.x)
Tried doing some on other Media Composers without Symphony and they all fail (won't start at all.)
Am I to assume that writing AS-11 files can only be done from Symphonies?
Every so often when closing MC, it gives an error message that it has encountered a problem and has stopped working. I'll force MC to close with Windows Task Manager. I don't lose any saved work, but it's annoying and there seems to be no cause & effect pattern dictating when and why this happens.
AVID MEDIA COMPOSER 2019 LEGEND OR REALITY ?
While it's relatively slow this month, I'm trying to refresh the OS and software on my 3 Mac Avid network, connected to Nexis Pro storage. All Macs (trash can, iMac and laptop) are on approved Mac hardware list.
After a fresh install of MacOS 10.13.6 and Media Composer 2018.8, Avid Background Services is not running consistently between different user profiles. I create Administrator (with admin rights) and Editor (standard, no admin rights) profiles on all machines, and make my freelancers use the Editor account. I am able to successfully start Avid Background Services on the Administrator account (green icon), it will not start on the Editor acocunt (red icon). I've installed this configuration on 2 of my 3 machines now (laptop and iMac) and this issue presents itself on both machines.
I've tried creating a new editor profile with admin rights, and this newly created profile still does not start Background Services. Only logging into the original Administrator profile allows for successful background transcodes, renders, etc.
I'm upgrading from v8.5, where Background Services was also unreliable. I was hoping Background Services would be more stable with this release. When it works, I find it very useful for our workflows, especially transcoding media to our Nexis in the background, allowing us to organize our bins and even work on other projects while it transcodes media in the background. I don't see that many posts about it in the forums, does it generally work well for everyone else? Anyone have any tricks up their sleeves to get Background Services turn green when it goes red? Or does no one bother because it doesn't work for them? Asking for a friend... :)

I’m not able to use background services
the dialogue in my browser explains “local host not found”.
The console in the mediacomposer has the same error “local host not found” and my app manager can’t phone home, (if I use the hotspot on my mobile it can phone home).
I’ve done a separate install of the OS (10.13.3) on a different partition of the system, drive and a fresh install of mediacomposer, and background services work fine.
So back on the main partition of the system drive, I have tried the following;
Complete uninstall and reinstall of mediacomposer
Completely reinstalled the OS
Still have the same probulem with background services!
I think I have inherited a problem from migrating from my previous Mac.
So what is my next step?
